Rebecca Solomon

Rebecca Solomon joined Cleveland & Co in early 2022 and will be qualifying in England & Wales by the end of 2023. Rebecca supports our clients across various legal matters including marketing compliance, data protection regulations, IP and Tech Agreements, and company and corporate governance.

Prior to joining Cleveland & Co, Rebecca worked as a paralegal in the Banking and Finance Legal team at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she worked on various cross border intragroup reorganisation transactions, various due diligence projects both buy-side and sale side and worked on matters in respect of exempt loans. Additionally, Rebecca has substantial data protection expertise and assists our clients with reviewing privacy policies and data protection impact assessments in addition to supporting the implementation of the new UK SCCs.

Rebecca’s ability to be adaptable in various areas of law has allowed her to build key client relationships and be proactive in managing new regulations and the impacts this has on her clients. An effective communicator, clients value Rebecca’s clarity and ability to cut through legal jargon.

When she’s not working on exciting client matters, Rebecca’s other passions include travelling, food blogging, yoga and listening to a good podcast.

Experience

  • Allianz: Assisting with compliance reviews of marketing materials in line with marketing regulation on financial promotions.
  • Fieldfisher: Assisting on a number of GDPR projects, with particular focus on data mapping exercises, reviewing privacy and cookie policies, and working on subject access reviews.
  • Investment Association: reviewing a number of service agreements, advising on regulatory issues including data protection issues, and assisting with the launch of the IA’s Engine FinTech Accelerator.
  • Mainspring: assisting with custody agreement negotiations with their EIS/SEIS and private equity clients, reviewing a number of Non-Disclosure Agreements and Power of Attorneys, drafting board resolutions for approval of corporate transactions.
  • PwC: Assisting on a number of syndicated financing transactions with a particular focus on international real estate finance projects, intra-group reorganisations and working on legal financial due diligence projects (both sale and buyside).

Rebecca Solomon joined Cleveland & Co in early 2022 as a paralegal to assist the team with various legal matters including general commercial matters, investment management and company law.

Rebecca is a graduate from Nottingham Trent University with an LLB honours in Law and she has also completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP University with a commendation. Prior to joining Cleveland & Co, Rebecca worked as a paralegal in the Banking and Finance Legal team at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she worked on various cross border intragroup reorganisation transactions, various due diligence projects both buy-side and sale side and worked on matters in respect of exempt loans.

Rebecca, also has experience working on data protection matters particularly the General Data Protection Regulation, and has experience reviewing privacy policies and data protection impact assessments. As well has data protection experience, Rebecca has worked in a Tier 4 US Bank on an ISDA variation margin project, for compliance of March 2017 Variation Margin Rules, and has experience liaising with in-house lawyers & senior stakeholders to review and prepare CSAs for execution.

Rebecca’s ability to be adaptable in various areas of law has allowed her to build key client relationships and be proactive in managing new regulations and the impacts this has on her clients. An effective communicator, clients value Rebecca’s clarity and ability to cut through legal jargon.

When she’s not working on exciting client matters, Rebecca’s other passions include reviewing various restaurants for her Instagram food review page and spending time with her family. Outside of work Rebecca enjoys yoga and listening to a good podcast.
