As part of our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we are delighted to feature Sonica Choudhary, our HR adviser who celebrates her first anniversary with Cleveland & Co this week! To celebrate Sonica’s first year with us, we sat down to ask her a few questions about her experiences at Cleveland & Co and what she enjoys about her job.
Why did you join Cleveland & Co?
On exploring more about C&Co, I found the company has great values and ethos which match my values and aspirations. It was an amazing experience meeting Emma, Leela and other members of the team during the interview and it helped me to visualise what further I can achieve in my career with C&Co.
What are the best bits of working at Cleveland & Co?
We have an amazing team at C&Co. The open communication, support from teammates and managers, and collaborative environment make it an amazing place to work.
What do you love most about your job?
No two days are the same in my role and I love that aspect. My role enjoys working on different projects, and helping my team and adding value to the firm.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
My dad said, “Because of fear of making mistakes, Never stop doing new things out of your comfort zone. You do mistakes when you learn new things if you are not doing mistakes means you are not learning”
What other role might you have done, if not HR?
I wanted to serve in the armed forces but unfortunately I wasn’t successful in the application process. My friends say I could be a very good teacher!
Favourite spot in London and why?
I like being in the suburbs like Richmond or Hampstead as they have rural charm and a sense of calmness. It’s a great quick getaway for the weekends
Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you?
I have recently developed an interest in Numerology (a study of the relationship between numbers, letters and patterns) and I have started reading more about the science of numbers.
